Hi @cjtab123,
Thanks for the first post in the Roku Community!
We get that your Roku Ultra is displaying a black screen in the middle of viewing a program and this issue persists even after you have rebooted the device. We'd be glad to further assist you with this issue.
Before we continue, we would like to know the following:
- When did you start to experience the issue?
- Did you receive a software update prior to this issue? If so, what is the software version of the Roku Ultra?
- What is the status light of the Roku Ultra?
- Does it happen from all of the content or channels that you are viewing?
Providing this information will help us to look closely into the issue. In the meantime, I suggest you follow the details below:
- Make sure to firmly plug the Roku Ultra into the power outlet.
- Try switching the HDMI port and input of your Roku Ultra from your television. (Example: If the device is connected to an HDMI 1 port, switch it to an HDMI 2 port. Then, use your TV remote to change the HDMI input from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2.)
- You can also try to connect the Roku Ultra to other televisions if it's available.
- If the issue persists, factory reset the Roku Ultra: Press and hold the reset button at the bottom of the device for 10 seconds while it is connected to the power source.
For reference, you can visit our Roku Support article on how to resolve a channel playback issue and how to system restart or factory reset your Roku streaming device.
Please keep us posted.

Riamie
