@RokuRiamie-D

We are unable to access any screen other than the Recovery Mode screen. The button sequence you've directed us to follow does nothing.

As mentioned by @NC8 there is a "version" listed on the recovery mode screen. I have the same version (29F.04E12221A).

Re: Roku Ultra (4640X) Stuck on Recovery mode

I too have the same version as @NC8  and @JCameronHollis, version 29F.04E12221A. I have to agree with others who have guessed that the recent update broke the devices, and hope there is a way to rollback to an update that does work, or that a future update will fix the issue. One of the great things about the unit is the optical audio out, and I'd hate to lose that if it can be avoided with a software fix.

Re: Roku Ultra (4640X) Stuck on Recovery mode

I agree with @wipeoutfan in regard to the optical audio out port. I have an older 5.1 receiver which does not have HDMI inputs and the 4640 Ultra allows me to get Dolby Digital\DTS surround sound on my setup using the optical out

The newer Ultra models lack this feature.

Re: Roku Ultra (4640X) Stuck on Recovery mode

I've had the 4640x for several years, plugged into the same TV and same power strip.

I started having the reboot loop yesterday afternoon, but didn't realize what it was at first.

I turned off the TV, figuring it was updating and would be ok today - it wasn't.

Eventually, it brought up a recovery screen.  I selected Update.  Same reboot loop.

When the recovery screen came up again, I selected Factory Refresh.  Still have the reboot

loop and it still eventually boots to recovery mode.  Clearly, the device is bricked.

Please let me know what's next.  I will, however, ask the question that I received when working

on the same software product for 20 years -  Don't you test updates on all supported devices?

this appears to be a massive miss.

Thanks.
