Hello everyone.
I run the HDhomerun on my Roku 3, and it keeps prompting me to update the Roku - but my Roku thinks it's up to date.
Currently my 4200x - Roku 3 (sn 1GJ360053214) has software version 12.5.5 * build 4174-04 and I see some posts suggesting others with a Roku 3 have updated to version 13.
I've tried changing it from wireless to wired - both ways show "excellent" as a connection speed
I've rebooted both the Roku and the router
Is there a manual way to flash the Roku?
ALSO, should I be concerned about up grading to 13 with all the post from other users having stuttering video? I really only use this Roku (I have a newer one attached to our main watching tv) for watching HDhomerun for the local news.
Thanks
Roku updates to new major updates each individual Roku installation by individual Roku installation, with an update schedule known only to Roku. If you have multiple Rokus, they may not become eligible for the update at the same time, even if they are the same Roku model. You can do manual update checks but it won't update until Roku gets to you.
Roku 3s are receiving the Roku 13.0 update that is currently rolling out but when you get yours is anybody's guess.
Frankly I prefer to get my updates later rather than earlier in the cycle because both Roku and the channel developers have had more time to get the bugs worked out.
The complaints I've seen re stuttering with ver 13.0 on Roku 3 have been on some of the more bloated apps like Netflix and MLB subscriptions. I don't know where HDHomerun would fall on that scale.

Thanks makaiguy for your response - great info to know.
it would be nice if they just emailed there members to let them know they ate rolling out an update and directions on how to rollback if the update causes problems
