No Sound When Casting iPhone 15 to Vizio TV

Greetings:

I cast my iPhone 15 to Sony Bravia with no problem.  But when i cast to both of our Vizio tvs, there is video but no audio.  Nothing is on mute and I've tried turning the volume up on both.  No luck.  I tried changing digital audio from "auto" to "stereo" and still no luck.

Help?

Glad to have you join us here in the Roku Community, WetDog!

Thanks for letting us know about this. We'd like to be able to help you get this sorted out.

Could you clarify if you're attempting to cast directly to your Vizio TV or to a Roku device? If you are using a Roku device connected to your Vizio TV, could you please specify which device model you are referring to?

In the meantime, you may find helpful tips in this support article about: How to screen mirror from your phone, tablet, or computer to your Roku streaming device.

With more information, we'll be able to assist accurately.

      Thanks Emman -

I'm using a Roku Streaming Stick 4K connected to Vizio TV through HDMI.  I screen mirror my iPhone 15 to our Sony Bravia (no Roku) without a problem.  So I assume the iPhone is working ok.  But when I screen mirror to Roku connected to our Vizio TVs, the video comes in but no audio.  Other than this minor issue, Roku works great on both our Vizio TVs.

      Thanks

Thanks for keeping us in the loop, WetDog!

Have you tried rebooting your Roku? Rebooting the Roku device can easily resolve problems like this since it clears the cache on your Roku.

        Here's how to do it:

        1. Press Home on your Roku remote
        2. Scroll and select Settings
        3. Select System
        4. Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
        5. Select System restart

If the issue persists, let us know so we can explore more troubleshooting options.

        Best,
        Emman

  • I have purchased an iPhone 15 recently as a gift, but when I try to connect to a Roku tv the app claims there are no devices connected. However if I open my phone I can see all the devices on the same WiFi network. Yes the phone and tv are properly connected to the same network, yes it is logged in to the correct Roku account, and yes I have rebooted the phone, tv and router with no progress. I have manually tried to connect with the ip address and it says it doesn’t not exist…. While I'm using the app on my phone for the remote. After looking this up I see more people have had this issue but all the Roku reps. say the same thing each time like "have you checked if it's on the same network." Or " have you turned it off and off" or "have you uninstalled the app." I do not understand how they can respond with that after the person states they have literally done that in there post. Pls help a brother out
