Need to reboot to get Airplay working

I own two Roku Premiere’s. Both need to be rebooted before Airplay will work to mirror my devices (iPhone and iPad). The Roku’s are 5 years old. I am thinking I may need to upgrade to new Roku models. Has anyone else had this issue.

thanks

Re: Need to reboot to get Airplay working

Hi, @AM007drum.

We're glad to see you here in the Roku Community!

We know how frustrating it can be to encounter issues when trying to use the Airplay feature on your Roku, and we completely understand that. No worries, we're here to help you sort this out.

To help us assist you with your concern effectively, could you tell us more about it?

  • When did you start noticing this issue?
  • What Roku device is affected?
  • Have you received any recent updates before this happened? If so, can you provide the latest software version of your Roku? (It can be found in Settings > System > About.)
  • Can you provide a short video of the exact behavior of the Roku device?

We are eager to get you back up and running. Please get back to us.

Best,
Emman

Re: Need to reboot to get Airplay working

Hello Emman:

Model:
3920 Roku Premiere
Software version:  14.1
We noticed this happening about 3 months ago. To get it to connect as I say I have to reboot Roku. I am living with this but very frustrating. Sorry I didn’t provide a video but hope you can help.

Re: Need to reboot to get Airplay working

Hey there!

Thanks for the update!

Have you tried resetting your network connection to see if it improves what you're experiencing?

Here's how:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select Advanced System settings
  4. Select Network connection reset
  5. Select Reset connection

Let me know if this helps!
