I’m probably not alone in thinking Roku has a lot of nerve adding this new “On Now” menu. It’s annoying as **bleep**. Why would Roku add something like this without a way to disable it? What are you thinking?
It’s bad enough when I turn on my Roku and see new channels added to my lineup without my permission. As of today, I had to delete 16 channels that I have zero interest in watching. Many of these channels are in foreign languages that I do not speak.

Hello, yeah it didn't work for me either. That's the way it always goes. They come up with a few possibilities and then one day one works. I think the difference between Roku customer service today and Roku customer service yesterday is today their people seriously try to solve our complaints and they can take our abuse and keep trying. It wasn't always like that. I already let them know it didn't work and I linked them to this thread so hopefully their at least following along

Great post. Thank you. You voiced my concerns as well as offered an alternative solution since Roku seems unwilling to fix it or even comment to us about it.

I have not seen this evidence that you have, of their improvement. In fact, I see this thread being largely ignored.
Go visit reddit and other forums where companies are helpful and active with their customers like Prusa 3D and you'll go into full shock if you think Roku has been helpful.
They have not responded and said anything close to "we're working on a fix."
That is absolutely insane and terrible customer support. I have over 30 years in this industry and I am appalled.
Tony is also ZERO help, just like the rest of them. He gave you some generic instructions that are completely irrelevant. Then again, his whole career is overrated, the dude wanted DVR when people were already making them out of computers and Sony already sold them as VAIO with capture cards for recording shows. What an innovation! How impressive to say "this is popular, let's make it more accessible." lmao, I've done that 2 dozen times.

We need choice if we want to keep the banner or not. We can't stop Roku from making changes and we have no right to stop them. We need to fight for the choice to use or not use the banner. Roku has never been about choice

You see easytodobetter, you are looking for customer service/customer support to come on and remove the banner that seems to have overtaken your world. They can't do that.
They are employees and they didn't come up with the banner so they can't just remove it so if they were to respond here, customers like you would take their heads off. Do you have the power to change things where you work. I don't think so.
Now, I can solve you problem. Are you ready, on the remote launchpad, left click to bring up the channel guide. Now the hard part, down click on the launchpad and the banner is gone. Another words, grow up and wait for Roku to instruct their employees as to what to do. Fair enough? There's no charge for my remedy
