I was given a Roku Express. After hooking it up, choosing a language and putting in my wifi password it does an update and restarts. When it comes back on it goes right back to the language options and I have to start all over. I've gone through the process a dozen times but no luck. Is anyone else having this issue?
If you are currently using your TV USB port for power, try using a power adapter at the wall instead. (any 5volt, 1amp cell phone charging adapter should work).
That sounds really frustrating! I haven’t experienced that issue myself, but it might help to try a factory reset on the Roku Express before setting it up again. Also, ensure that your internet connection is stable during the update. If the problem persists, contacting Roku support could be a good next step. Hope you get it sorted out soon!
In addition to @AvsGunnar excellent advice, you might also try using an alternate Internet connection, such as a hotspot on a smartphone. It's doesn't have a logical explanation, but it is something that has worked for other users. Once it fully completes setup, then you can reconnect to your home network and it will work fine. Again, it doesn't make sense, but it has worked.
