What worked for me was this:
From the home screen, use the arrow on your remote to navigate to the Live TV icon on the right side of the screen, and hit OK on your remote. This should bring up the grid of channels and shows. Then use the left arrow on your remote to navigate over to the left until you get to the column of the grid that shows the channel icons. Now use the asterisk key. That should open a menu, and you should be able to go down to "sort channel list" and then choose "by channel number."
You have to be in the channel icon column of the live tv grid for the solution to work. I don't know why the moderator used a screenshot where the show, not the channel icon, is highlighted because that doesn't work. I also don't know why Roku would institute this stupid change with no notification and no way to easily find a remedy. To excuse it by saying that they have an algorithm to organize channels based on your preferences is baloney; that's what "favorites" is for.
I hope this works for you.
When you are in the guide, go to the left until you are on the "channel name/icon". Press the asterick (*) button on remote and select "Sort Channel List". Then select "By Channel Number"
Thanks for the Intel 😎
Thanks for the information. I didn't change it so I don't know why I would have to change it back.
I don't have a live tv guide I have an older roku tv, the numbers come up on the antenna channels, but not the roku tv channels. should I reset the router or turn off spectrum box and the turn back on

Roku "thoughtfully" changed it for you thinking you and others should know about this ability to hide numbers for some reason.
I’m with you on the frustration, but please calm down. Understand that any piece of tech is under a logical rule of “change or die”. Let’s face it, those WII consoles and blackberries didn’t fare too well. Yelling at them on a forum will get you noticed, but in a way that is akin to watching your neighbors relationship break up out your front window. May be fun to watch, but they are people too.
I DO NOT HAVE THE NEW LIVE TV GUIDE , I HAVE A MODEL THAT'S ABOUT 10YRS OLD. THE CHANNELS I PICK UP ON MY ANTENNA HAVE THE CHANNEL NUMBER LISTED NEXT TO THE LOGO, BUT SOMETHING HAPPENED AND NOW THE CHANNELS THAT COME TROUGH MY ROUTER TO MY ROKU TV HAVE DISAPEARED.IS THIS PERMANENT OR IS THERE A WAY TO GET THEM BACK? THANKS DANNY V.
