I followed the instructions; it shows “off” , yet i continue to hear talking when i adjust volume

Ive tried this numerous times; even pressing thr * button 4 times-not responding

ive tried unplugging roku over night; still, voice announces volume changes (grrrr)

If the TV is announcing "volume" changes, then I think you may have a similar feature on your TV that you need to disable.  The Roku accessibility will only announce selections since Roku devices do not have volume controls/features.

I think it is your TV talking to you, not the Roku.

Post back the model of your TV if you need more help and maybe can look for some info on it.

Thank you; i have come to the same conclusion and i will try today

 

our TV is LG, recent model, purchased about a year or so ago

Newer LG's do have this Accessibility feature.

Depending on actual model number, using the TV remote (not Roku remote), try looking under Settings/All Settings/Accessibility/Audio Guidance/[Off]

Other models (depending on WebOS), look under Settings/All Settings/General/Accessibility/Audio Guidance/[Off]
