Cannot update Roku 3400x stick in my Roku tv

I bought a Roku tv awhile back expressly because it has Roku already. Now I cannot update it not any of the channels. Did I waste my money?

Re: Cannot update Roku 3400x stick in my Roku tv

Seeing as how the 3400 was released nearly 9 years ago, I'd say you got your money's worth.

I don't know the brand/model of the TV, but I'm sure it has HDMI ports, for which you could purchase any current Roku model (for $20-100) and hook them up (just remove the 3400 from the MHL port if you want to prevent input confusion).

Can you clarify your issue?  Your subject says it's about a Roku 3400 Stick, but your message text says it's about updating a Roku TV.

Re: Cannot update Roku 3400x stick in my Roku tv

The 3400 was the MHL stick that came with the TV making it the first "Roku TV".  It's no longer supported and no longer gets updates.  The OP should probably toss it and get a new Roku device which I believe should work in the TV.  I think you can remove the MHL stick and the TV will still work, but I've never seen one myself.

[smacking forehead]  I should have recognized the 3400 was the MHL model.  All would have been clear.
