AirPlay with iPad always worked before but not now.

Jump to solution

I’ve always been able to mirror from my iPad to my TV through my Roku streaming device. I started having problems with just the audio not working when mirroring. Now when I select Roku to mirror from my iPad or iPhone for that matter, nothing happens.

Welcome to the Roku Community, @DMoon!

Thanks for letting us know about your issue with the Airplay since it stopped working.

If you do not see your Roku device when trying to use AirPlay to view content on your TV, you should check the following:

  • Do both your Roku device and Apple device support AirPlay 2?
Review the requirements in this article to determine if your devices are compatible.

  • Are your Roku device and Apple device connected to the same wireless network?
You can view the network configuration of your devices in the settings menu. On your Roku device, go to Settings > Network > About. If it is not connected to the same network as your Apple device, learn how you can resolve connectivity issues.

  • Has AirPlay been turned off on your Roku device?
Go to Settings > Apple AirPlay and HomeKit and make sure AirPlay is set to On.

You may also want to check out this support article on using AirPlay and HomeKit with your Roku streaming device.

Please try doing this and see if it helps with what you're experiencing.

Best regards,
John
