Re: Adding and deleting channels such as usa

to remove a channel/app installed on a Roku, you highlight the desired tile and press the star * button. One of the options listed is to remove the channel. Select that, then reboot your Roku. If it's a Roku TV, make certain you use the menu option to restart the device, as just turning a Roku TV off does not reboot it. Pull the power cord if you want to be certain it reboots.

If there's no option to remove the channel when you press *, that means you have subscribed to that provider through Roku. You must first cancel the subscription through your Roku user account web page, and then the option to remove it will be available.

That used to be the case, but unless they have changed it back VERY RECENTLY, it hasn't been that way for a year or more.  (I have no subscriptions through Roku so I can't check this.)

Now, a channel whose subscription was made THROUGH ROKU can not be removed via the onscreen user interface while the subscription is still in force.  The "Manage subscription" option will allow you to prevent any additional payments and keep the app from auto-renewing when the current pre-paid subscription runs out, but until then the subscription remains active.  The "Remove channel" option will return only when the subscription period expires.

As a work around, for immediate channel removal you can use the official Roku remote app (not TheRokuChannel app) on an Android/iOS phone/tablet.  This will only remove the channel from your Roku; it will NOT cancel the paid subscription.
• At the bottom of the first screen, click "Devices", and if necessary connect to one of your Roku devices.
• In your connected device click on "Apps on Roku".
• Click AND HOLD the channel you wish to remove (a quick click will bring up the remote controls instead).
• Click on "Remove" and confirm.
