blinking orange light lg tv on streambar se

Jump to solution

hi all,

I recently purchased a streambar se, with the intention of connecting it directly to my lg tv using just the optical out connection.

however, when I do so, nothing happens except a blinking orange light.  when  I switch to "optical" on the audio for the TV, it's silent...

the brief connection instructions provided don't seem to address this issue.

???

Hello, @mvilla!

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We're sorry to hear that you're having trouble setting up your Roku Streambar SE. We'd be happy to share information that could help you start streaming.

Please be aware that you may also need to connect an HDMI cable to your Roku Streambar. This cable is essential for transferring both video and images from the Streambar to your TV. The optical cable, on the other hand, only provides audio output from the Streambar to the TV if your TV's HDMI port does not support HDMI eARC. It's important to note that the optical cable does not carry video to your TV; it only transmits audio.

To give you a better idea, here is a sample video on how to set up your Roku Streambar.

You can see more here, How to set up your Roku Streambar SE

Please let us know if further assistance is needed.

Thanks,
Emman
