I ran into the same problem, I had to change the tv picture mode to movie in order to see a normal picture. I tried it every mode only movie mode works. This seams like a software or firmware problem. I’ve had my tv since November but didn’t operate it or plugged it in until January.
Since the TV is less than a year old contact TCL. The TV should be under warranty.
