Is there a way to hook up wireless bluetooth headphones and not have to remove the jack to get the tv speakers back  on?

Hello! @dannyg21251,

Thank you for reaching out to the Roku Community!

How to pair Bluetooth headphones

Before you can begin streaming Bluetooth audio, pair your headphones to your compatible Roku streaming device. This is done through a discovery process that allows Bluetooth devices to register information about each other and then make a secure wireless connection. Because this pairing information is retained even when Bluetooth devices are powered off, it is typically only necessary to pair your Bluetooth device once. After you complete the pairing process, your headphones will appear in the list of paired devices, and a headphone icon will appear on the television screen when adjusting the volume.

Use the steps below to pair your headphones:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select Remotes & devices
  4. Select Wireless headphones
  5. Select Add New Wirelesseless headphones
  6. Turn on your Bluetooth headphones and put them in pairing mode
  7. Wait while your Roku device scans for Bluetooth headphones. This can take up to 30 seconds.
  8. Select your Bluetooth headphones from the list of available devices

The Wireless headphones menu option will only appear on a compatible Roku device.

Hi @shuboy,

Thanks for your first post here in the Roku Community!

It would appear that we are missing some information here that would help us better understand the request that you made.

Could you please elaborate on this information for us? Are you referring to the private listening feature? Or to the wireless Bluetooth headphone feature?

Once we have a clearer grasp of the situation, we will be able to recommend the appropriate next steps.

Thanks,

Rey

My headphones are not Bluetooth. They are Sennheiser headphones and work by plugging into the TV and accessing its audio. They work, even when the TV's volume is all the way down. Allowing me to listen without bothering others. They worked fine with the regular Roku, but are not working with my new Roku Sound Bar.
