Trouble connecting from phone to tv

I have a Hisense Tv and i lost the remote so the way i use it is with the roku app. Ive been using it with the app for years and never really had any issues until recently. I dont know why but recently my phone will just completely stop connecting or even detecting my tv. This goes on for days or sometimes weeks and it just randomly fixes itself just for it to go back to not working after a couple hours or a couple days. I tried everything from reconnecting the wifi on my phone to unplugging my tv for literal hours at a time and reseting my phone but literally nothing works. Occasionally unplugging my tv works but it’s very random and usually it has to be unplugged to hours. I dont know if my tv is even connected to my wifi since i cannot control it but i think it should connect automatically as soon as it is turned on. I read something about having a dual band router and that if you want two devices to connect then they have to be on the same band but i dont know if thats true and even if it is i have no idea how to change my band. Someone plz help i just want to use my tv again

  • What specific Roku device do you have? (Roku TV, Roku streaming player, etc.)
  • Have you made any recent changes to your network or Roku device setup?
  • Does your Roku mobile app have the latest software? How about your Roku device? (You can check it through Settings > System > Software Update.)
