We just purchased our first Roku TV for the living room (our daughter has had one in her room for more than a year and loves it). What's weird: when we are streaming shows from Prime, the temperature check warning keeps flashing. This doesn't happen when we're watching Netflix or standard free TV.
Our Roku is not in a cabinet and not in sunlight. It's currently standing on top of our piano, though we do plan to mount it on the wall this weekend.
Any insights or suggestions would be much appreciated!
What brand of TV did you get? It's possible there's a hardware issue with that TV, and the manufacturer is responsible for hardware problems. It doesn't sound like your location should be causing a heat problem. I've had two Roku TVs (Sharp and Insignia) for 4-5 years. The Sharp has never had a problem. The Insignia had a problem the first day, but Best Buy just replaced it with a new one and it's been fine since.
