TV not turning on -black screen

Jump to solution

I have the 43" roku 4k smart TV. I've been living abroad - during that time the TV was not in use. Just returned to find it will not turn on. I've tried using both remote and button underneath the tv. It makes sounds and I see a little white flash but the roku splash screen never displays, just stays black. It's my TV dead? Any tips for what I could try to get it working?

Hi @Goldenlake,

Thanks for the first post to the Roku Community!

We understand you are having trouble with your Roku TV, and we appreciate your contacting us.

We'd like to take action on this, but we need more details to determine whether there are any options we can investigate further.

  • What model is your Roku TV? (Hisense, TCL, ONN, Select Series, Pro, Series, Plus Series, etc.)

For troubleshooting purposes, you can try unplugging it, waiting for about 60 seconds, and plugging it back in again.

If this does not work, we recommend trying to perform a hard reset on your Roku TV by finding the pinhole at the back of your TV. Look on the left-hand side, and you can see where the ports are. Then, there is a word that says "reset."

Please keep us posted on what you find out, and we'll continue assisting you from there.

All the best,
Chel
