Re: TV keeps asking me to set up sound bar

They - at least one Roku guy with handle @RokuJohnB who monitors the community - was on this over the weekend and asked me to submit details, which I did. AFAIK that is at least some of the input for the investigation.

That said, it would be nice if Roku would post updates here as well as to Reddit.

Re: Falsely saying I’ve connected a new device

I'm so happy that you found a way to make it about you and your Fortran days @John-Mag but that's enough corporate meat riding it's been A WEEK OF THIS and they're ignoring it entirely

Thanks. At least you let us know they know about it and are working it.

Re: Falsely saying I’ve connected a new device

Here is what has changed for me today ((3/26/25). I had my HDMI 2 connection labeled as PC and a couple of hours ago it changed on its own back to the label HDMI 2. When i shut the PC off or unplug the HDMI cord I will know if the problem has been fixed. I just now pulled the HDMI cord out of the computer and plugged it back in and got the same message. I guess I will know it hasn't been fixed when I turn off both devices.

Re: Falsely saying I’ve connected a new device

Thanks for the update. I forced a software update check, got an update, and now the problem appears to be fixed for me too.

My Roku TV keeps asking me to name my inputs every time I start them.

I typically use my Roku to play video game consoles. I've had the TV for a couple of years now, and have long since set up the inputs. However, a couple of days ago my TV has started detected all of my inputs as new devices every time I turn them on, and asks me to name them. Is there a way to stop this behavior?

Re: TV keeps asking me to set up sound bar

John-Mag may be on to something finally. I redid my forced update and when I bring my devices out of sleep, the message did not appear. However, I am still skeptical because the update date, version number, and build number never changed. That means the update software itself may be a problem. Time will tell.

Re: Falsely saying I’ve connected a new device

@John-Mag I just forced a system update and that seems to have worked (so far at least). Thanks for sharing that advice!
