TCL Roku updated to Google?!?!

Am I losing my mind, or did my TCL Roku TV update to Google TV?

This was a few days ago, but the TV was on and working, but not connected to the net. I wanted to try some IP control, and plugged in a network cable. It offered an update ("Sure! Why not?"), and after doing that, it woke up as a Google TV.

I'm comfortable with both the Google/Android TV and Roku interfaces. They're quite distinct, so me confusing one with the other is extremely unlikely.

Re: TCL Roku updated to Google?!?!

Hi @BradIHT

Welcome, and thanks for posting to the Roku Community!

We appreciate you letting us know about the behavior you've experienced with your TCL Roku TV and would like to take action. However, we need more details to determine if there are any options we can investigate further.

  • What is your device's OS version?
  • Are you encountering any error codes or messages?
  • Could you send us a screenshot or a photo of the issue you've seen on your TV?

For troubleshooting purposes, we recommend restarting your Roku device from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).

Please keep us posted, and we'll continue assisting you from there.

All the best,
Chel
