TCL Roku TV acting random(switching apps, trying to install apps) when navigating Youtube

Posted about this on Reddit, so I'm gonna just copy my post from there with some edits and additional occurrences.

Heya all.

I have a 32" TCL Roku TV (Model 325327, Software version 12.5.5 Build 4174-48)

For the past two weeks or so, it's been acting screwy. I'd try to watch the YouTube app, and while I'm navigating the app, it'll randomly swap to HDMI or Live Roku TV.

Three days ago, I tried to watch YouTube, YouTube selected my video as I was trying to add it to watch later, but it decided to play; all I had was a black screen and then it back to the main Roku screen.

Went back to YouTube, managed to toss the video I was going to watch into Watch Later, went to another video, and ended up on the Add Channel screen for CBS News

(a Redditor suggested someone was using remote access to prank me, or unintentionally controlling my TV. I deactivated remote access, which brings me to today's incident.)

Today: Trying to scroll my Watch later playlist, it suddenly switches to HDMI. Go back to Youtube, try to scroll through my Watch later playlist again, and it goes back to Roku home screen.

Any idea what's going on?

Re: TCL Roku TV acting random(switching apps, trying to install apps) when navigating Youtube

Hi @Taaron12,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

If you are having an issue with your Roku TV screen going black when playing content on the YouTube channel, we recommend unplugging your device for 5-10 minutes then plugging the Roku TV back resolves the issue.

In addition, Have you tried removing any unused channels from your Roku device including the Youtube channel, restart your device, and then try to add the Youtube channel back to see if you are still experiencing the issue you are seeing?

Lastly, what are you seeing on screen? Can you provide a video of the issue you are experiencing?

We look forward to hearing from you and looking closely into this issue. Thank you!

Best regards,
Mary
