Slow streaming channels Response, TCL Roku TV model 32S327-CA

Our subscribed streaming channels which run without a problem on our computer are extremely slow and very hard to use on the Roku TV. The software is up-to-date, version 13.1.4 build 1510-48. I just checked for an update and there is none.

Britbox and Disney are both almost unusable with their lag in response to the Roku remote controls. Acorn TV, which was always fast response now seems to have a slower response to the remote control, compared to what it used to be. I don't know whether the problem is with the performance of the paid streaming apps on our Roku TV but it is not with the platforms/channels themselves because they run smoothly and without lag on our computer (which is on the same wireless network as the Roku TV.)

The cable TV channels we subscribe to run/respond on the Roku TV without lags/problems. (Once we have selected TV channels from the home menu, a different remote controller from the TV service provider is used, not the Roku remote control.)

Re: Slow streaming channels Response, TCL Roku TV model 32S327-CA

Hi @ebG_Gmcc,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

Thanks for letting us know about the behavior you encountered when streaming your TCL Roku TV. We would be more than happy to investigate this issue further.

May we know;

  • When did you notice the issue occur?
  • Do you observe this behavior while using other channel(s) on your device?
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already taken to try to resolve the issue?
  • Have you tried removing the channel you observed this issue on from the Roku home screen? Then, restart your device. Once it loads up again, add the channel and try playing content again.

With more detailed information, we'll be able to assist you further.

All the best,
Chel
