My Roku tv keeps disconnecting from the internet. Im on paramount plus and as soon as I put on a show it kicks me out and it either goes to the home page or it restarts my tv completely. I tried it on Netflix and Hulu and the same thing happens. I know it’s not my wifi because my other Roku tv in my bedroom doesn’t kick me out and is working perfectly fine. I tried everything to fix it. I’ve restarted the tv under settings. I reseted the network. I unplugged my tv and Also the wifi módem many times. I even went as far to reset it to factory settings. I don’t know what else to do. This just started happening about 7 days ago out of nowhere. Can someone please help!!
Hi @Valeria917
Welcome to the Roku Community!
I'd be delighted to look closely to see how we may assist you in getting started. Do you receive an error message when attempting to connect to your wireless network or when streaming a specific channel?
For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried re-connecting your Roku to a solid wireless network to see if that helps resolve the issue you are seeing? You may also try to connect to an alternate wireless network, such as another mobile phone signal typically provided and maintained by specific mobile phone (cellular) service providers, to see if you are experiencing the same issue.
With detailed information, we will be better able to assist you.
Warm Regards,
Lianna
Well sometimes I get a message saying disconnected from network and gives me the option to go connect it again but as soon as I hit it and go to the homepage it’s connected again to the internet.
And no I haven’t connected it with a wire because I don’t know how too and also I don’t think I have the proper equipment to do so. But yes I just tried connecting it to my phones Wi-Fi and it’s still doing the same thing it just restarted my tv completely.
i also don’t think it’s paramount plus because when I stream the app on my phone it works fine I don’t have any problems.
I have the same problem and it is something that keep happening on and off over the years, we have figured out it is undoubtedly done by Roku in order to force you to upgrade your system, I find it is nothing less than blackmail and it infuriates me to no end. It will keep doing the on/off thing until you upgrade your system, then it will work fine again for a while until they deside they want more money out of you and push their new systems again. I will try and look into other ways of streaming besides Roku because of this!
Hi @Valeria917
Thank you for the post.
Can you please provide us with more specific information about the issue you are experiencing? Are all the other streaming channels operating normally? How long has the issue existed and what troubleshooting done to resolve the issue?
With detailed information, we will be able to assist you better.
Warm Regards,
Lianna
What is happening is that my TV keep switching off, in the beginning it came back on on it's own, after a few seconds but now it happens every ca. 5 min, and we have to disconnect the Roku wait a few minutes and then connect again, to sort of clear the line or whatever, it is becoming intolerable and almost impossible to watch TV. It does not affect the Internet only TV and we only livestream through Roku, we don't watch anything else. This happens after we have had the "box" for a few years, but as soon as we upgrade it stops until we have had the box for a few years again (2-3 years?)
I would guess Roku is censoring Newsmax, as that’s the only problem I have with mine resetting. If it keeps up, I’ll censor Roku with a new device.
Last night we disconnected Roku/lines all night and it is working better this morning (so far)!
Mine started with Netflix only. Last night I started watching a show from AppleTV, Hulu, Amazon Prime, peacock, Paramount Plus, etc. Every channel/show we were in only let us watch about 5 minutes before it kicked us out to Home Screen. I’m ready to throw it out the window!
