Roku TV 5s Countdown Delay when using Apple TV CEC

Jump to solution

After a recent update my TCL Roku TV started going to the main menu, then displaying a 5s delay in the lower 3rd before going to the Apple TV home screen when turning on the TV with the Apple remote using CEC.

Sometimes after the 5s countdown, nothing happens and it stays on the Roku main menu and starts serving me ads.

Previously it would show the HDMI icon screen for about 1s before simply going to the Apple TV home screen after turning on w the apple remote. I do not use Roku features at all and this has become increasingly annoying.

Both the Apple TV and Roku TV have current software, updated again today to see if there may have been a patch/update.

How to fix this!?

Hi @bujaam,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thanks for letting us know about the behavior you've encountered on your TCL Roku TV and the steps you took to resolve it.

In this case, we recommend restarting your Roku TV from the Settings menu by navigating to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step).

Please keep us posted on what you find out.

All the best,
Chel
