I just purchased a Roku Streambar for my old Sharp LC-60LE450U (the TV has no ARC port AND no optical cable port BUT there is a circular orange "digital audio output" port). The Streambar instructions say that if there is no HDMI ARC port that the optical cable should be used in addition to the HDMI cable.
1. If I don't plan to use the TV for anything other than the signal received from the Streambar, do I really need the optical cable? Won't the Streambar just emit the high quality sound that it is receiving from wifi and not need to send the audio signal to the TV and back?
2. If I do need the optical cable, are there adapters for this purpose? Optical on one end and old style circular "digital audio output" on the other?
