Worked for me...........  I unplugged my cable box and HDMI wires first with no luck.  Then I unplugged the TV and bingo... sound came right back.  Sometimes you just need to do the basics... reset or unplug for a minute.

Outstanding! I was ready to return it after trying everything under the sun. Simply unplugged the TV and my DirectTV receiver, and a minute later plugged them back in. BOOM! Sound is back. Many thanks 🙂

Mine started crackling last night Woke up today with no sound at all Unpludded it 30 seconds Plugged back in Works fine now

you have to do it quick succession but once you get it right, your screen will flip out for a min and the TV will restart. I was about to buy a new tv.

All that was necessary was to unplug the tv and plug it back in. Sound restored.
