Unplugged it from the socket. Waited 30 seconds. Replugged it. Sound back,

Ok here is what you do unplug tv which will boot tv dont factory reset leave it unplug for like 1 minute then plug it sound will return just remembered smart tv like a computer well hope this helped it worked for me

Thank you!!! This worked!! Our power flickered last night and the volume went stupid, so I was having to change it in settings every few minutes. It was aggravating as heck!

I just bought a 32" ONN Roku tv tonight and after playing with it and setup for the last few hours,  the sound went out. The audio reset worked but had me leary. Should I be returning this TV for a different brand Roku setup? Is there a permanent fix? 

I've seen a lot of threads regarding this issue and it seems to be related to Roku. Will switching brands of Roku TV's fix the issue?

i have found that if you go to the settings and go to the volume settings you  need to turn it to off then back to leveling then the sound comes back on, but if you change pause or go to another movie it does it again.
