Looks like a busted LCD screen. This can happen if the TV was laid flat, something hit the screen, or it flexed when adjusting the TV viewing angle. It may be an illusion in the picture you uploaded, but the frame look bent.
Do a Google image search for "busted LCD screen" and you will see many pictures like yours.
