@johnmaclain789, that's not a factory reset; it's just a reset/restart. To factory reset you have to find the reset button (probably on the back) and press and hold it for at least 30 seconds with the TV turned on.
I can tell you now what Roku's response is going to be - Roku doesn't make the TVs, so they're going to tell you to contact the manufacturer.
Contacting Support for Your Roku TV - Roku Community
I am in the same boat. 75 inch roku tcl r635 and its barely 2 years old. Tcl customer support was worthless and pretty much told me I was screwed without an extended warranty. Never again will I buy a TCL or Roku tv!!!
Thanks for the post.
Have you already tried unplugging the Roku TV for 10-15 minutes and then plugging it back in to see if the issue is still occurring?
Please keep us posted what you find out and we will be able to assist you further.
Thanks,
Danny
THAT DOES NOT WORK!!!
THAT HAS NEVER WORKED!!!!
YOU’VE BEEN SAYING THE SAME NONSENSE FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS!!!!!!!!!!
I have the r635 for just over 2 years and now have the black screen. When I unplug it over and over eventually it will come back on but then does the same thing when you turn it off. The problem is all over the internet and they continue to do nothing about it!!! never again, and never again will I buy a big purchase tv without an extended 5 year warranty on any brand!!!
This type of failure is incredibly rare with other television manufacturers. Most will last at least 10 years with regular usage.
TCL is a trash company that has knowingly defrauded the public for years. The only way to do anything about it to write to your AG‘s office.
