Re: Guide immediately appearing on screen since update

OMG. Just recently bought 3 ROKU tvs and initially fine at startup. But last week all the tvs now go to Guide as opposed to last programme watched. And yes. Also experienced wrong date and time on tv guide which corrects itself after a little time. Very annoying. Wish I’d read reviews before my purchases. So why no update from ROKU techies on how to prevent this

Re: Guide immediately appearing on screen since update

Hi Community Users,

Greetings from the Roku Community!

We understand you're having problems with your live TV channel guide. We'd like to know more about it so we can further assist you. Please provide us with more details.

  • What specific live TV channel guide are you having issues with? (Over-the-Air, The Roku Channel, etc.)
  • Do you have an antenna connected to your Roku device?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
  • What Roku software version are you currently using? You can check this by going to Settings > System > About.

In the meantime, please try to restart your system by going to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step). After doing so, check to see if your software is in its latest version.

We'll wait for your update.
Kind regards,

Eunice

Re: Guide immediately appearing on screen since update

@RokuEuniceL

What specific live TV channel guide are you having issues with? (Over-the-Air, The Roku Channel, etc.)

"Live TV" app for Over-the-Air (antenna)/Cable (not "Roku Channel" app, nor the left menu "Live TV")

Do you have an antenna connected to your Roku device?

Yes

What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

Tried pressing [*], [left] or [right] while in "Live TV" to see in there's any setting to disable the TV guide from showing up every time we start "Live TV" app from Home screen.

Have searched in Settings for such setting; nothing at all.

Steps to reproduce : From Home screen, we select "Live TV" app then [OK] to start it. At the beginning, the TV guide shows up full-screen and we have to press [<-] (return button) or [OK] again on the remote control to get rid of it, unless we wait for 60 sec. timeout to disappear automatically and finally being able to watch the actual live TV program.

N.B. No such problem when we turn on the TV device with "Live TV" as default on boot.

What Roku software version are you currently using?

12.5.0 - build 4176-81

Software update last check: 12/17/2023

Software update last updated: 10/24/2023

Re: Guide immediately appearing on screen since update

Hi @mika8,

We appreciate you providing all these details here in the Roku Community!

Kindly try to restart your Roku device by going to Settings > System > Power > System restart (if you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step) and see if it does anything. If it persists, please provide us with the following information so we can escalate this to the appropriate Roku team for review.

  1. Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About).
  2. Tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue, press the Home button five times, followed by the Back button five times, and provide us with this ID).

We'll be waiting for your response.
Kind regards,
Eunice
