Re: Getting local channels usi a digital antenna on Roku tv

You need to go to the settings menu from the home screen. From there go to TV inputs>Live TV>Manage channels>Hide Streaming Channels. This will hide all of the live Roku channels and will only show antenna TV. And when I want to watch live Roku TV I just go back to the settings and turn off "hide streaming channels". It took me a week to figure this out 😂

There may be an easier way, but  this is what worked for me 😉!! I was getting really frustrated not being able to watch the local news, but now I can ! Yay! 😂

Thanks everyone for the quick response!  That did work to get me my local channels.  Then I went back in to turn the streaming option back on and now my HULU won't open.  I can get into roku channels, netflix, myheart, etc but cannot get Hulu to open.

Any other ideas?

My goodness, I have worked on this on and off for 2 days and am losing my patience.

Thanks

We ended up just rebooting the system and then everything seems to work ok.  We now can get antenna and streaming without having to turn it on and off.  Thanks so much to those that helped us solve this issue!

I agree the antenna input should have a direct entry when you click Live TV. I to had to turn off all the streaming channels  to find my local channels.

How to use your own digital antenna on Roku TV

Jump to solution

I bought a new 50" Roku TV and set it up Nov 23, 2024. The workaround steps to use an antenna are:
Go to ... Settings > TV Inputs > Live TV > Manage channels - check Hide streaming channels > Scan for channels. On Set up Live TV, OK on Antenna. You will see "Scanning for channels..." When you see the "You're done!" screen, select "Watch live TV". You are now able to view your antennae channels.

If that was the end of it, it wouldn't be too bad. However, EVERY TIME after you power off the TV, (not unplug, just the power button), then turn on the TV, it's back to "the Roku channel". You must go through all those steps again. All of them.

Has anyone found a way to correct this so it sticks?

This works, but is reset after powering off the TV. When it's powered on again, you have to go through all the steps again.
