Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

This issue has NOT been resolved. Its 1/1/2023 and our TV is still not working. No apps will open. We've checked for a software update, done a factor reset. Nothing is working and our TV is basically useless to stream several apps we pay a monthly subscription for.

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

An update was finally made available on 12/19/2022 (Software version 11.5.0, Build 4312), BUT IT RESOLVED NOTHING.

MY ROKU IS STILL A BRICK!!!

ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

This has been an ongoing issue since Roku released their 12/8/22 system update . . . 3+ weeks ago.

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

Was given the tv, created my Roku account. Did the activation sequence and no apps work.  I get stuck in a loop of seeing the app logo then right back to home, or a message about it unable to reinstall.

says it’s on software 11.0.0 build 4193-12

roku version 5135X

model number NS-39DR510NA17

even tried guest mode with no luck.  Have tried all troubleshooting steps, this is definitely not a “me” issue.

Ad me to the list. This is impacting all 4 of our Roku TVs. One on 11.0 and the others on 11.5

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

Same as above. Was given a Roku TV (Sharp LC50LB481U) on 12/28/22 that had been unused for quite some time. Power it up and the apps all ran. I reset and cleared the TV to use my account. Network connected and updated to 11.0.0 Build 4193-13. Connected 5g and network is excellent signal.

Apps appear to load. Launching  any App generates the message... " can't be reinstalled from the network"

All I can do now is receive over air channels and the app to displays the channel nformation doesn't work!

Come on Roku.... please get this fixed!

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

ROKU television is currently working although I do have periods of the system asking for my password.  I just hit home and then try again.  The second try is usually successful.

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

No app works on my Roku TV.  Netflix, Roku TV, Crackle, Hulu….nothing.  Just get “Can’t run channel” and to check my network connection.  Network connects and checks good.  I’ve tried everything:  System updates, factory reset, unplugging tv, removing channels.

Roku TV: 5406x

Insignia model: NS-48DR510NA17

Software version: 11.0.0 build 4193-20

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

Suddenly as if by magic, it’s working this evening, but did not this morning… and I made no changes to my set up at all

Re: After 12/8/22 System Update, no apps will open

I was checking this morning about 11:30 to see if anything had been resolved. I ran update and nothing had changed. Still 11.0.0 Build 4193-13. About an hour later I attempted to add a app and It downloaded and ran! No error message. Encouraged by this I went to an app that had already been previously working. It downloaded and ran!

So whatever had been preventing apps to download and run has been apparently sorted out....

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We believe this issue has been resolved with the Roku device having an error message. We would recommend trying to perform a manual update on your Roku device to see if you are still experiencing the issue you are reporting.

Instructions to manually update your software:

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Select System
  3. Select System update
  4. Select Check now

If you're still seeing an error message after checking for a system update, please let us know here.

Best regards,
Mary
