I have 5 TCL Roku TVs.... (3) R625 series, (1) R535 series, (1) 4.series
This past week all 5 TVs stopped being able to be watched as the app icons are either grayed out or just not there. Restarting does nothing. Unplugging does nothing.
This appears to be a Roku network issue because the "live tv" section is blank, the "what to watch" section is blank, "sports is blank", featured free is blank.
Internet connection is wired and it works when doing a network test thru the Roku menu. Once in a blue moon the apps mysteriously reappear and sometimes they flicker on real fast.then instantly turn gray or disappear again
Impossible to be hardware issues on 5 tvs all within 1 or 2 days of each other. Restarted my router and no issues in my wired network. All TV's were roku 12.0 software and have since updated to 12.05 software in the last 12 hrs and nothing was fixed.
TVs are basically unwatchable as u cant get apps to show to select an app to watch. Total bricks and alot of money not working. TVs are too new. This has to be a network issue because the live tv section is just blank
1 more possible explanation i need to see if anyone else noticed this but just days before this problem started my Roku TVs went from a 3 wide grid of app icons to a 4 grid wide of app icons. It caused a weird very fast glitch when scrolling from the menu list to the icon area. That lasted maybe 3 days i guess then went back to the 3 wide grid of app icons. It's at that point when my app icons started to either disappear or gray out. Timing is hard to deny. Wonder if it's a graphical error when the design went from 4 wide app icon grid back to 3 wide icon grid and the programmers just didn't realize their mistake?
Maybe Roku or TCL was testing a 4 wide app grid on a small group of TV's to get feedback and those in the test now have problems and those never tested never experienced this issue?
You're probably right. It's a network problem - your network. Try restarting all of your network equipment - gateway/modem/router. If that doesn't work, try connecting to an alternate network like your phone's hotspot just to see what happens.
Have the same issue with my Roku bar, sticks and TV's after the latest update. My network is fine, as I have already had the service technician inspect it today. I can stream thru my TV, but the Roku units are blank
Not my network
This Is a Roku network issue as all that data streams into roku devices to display apps specific saved to your account and libe tv channel lineup is sent from roku to devices. My internal network has tested ok. Other devices on the network no issues. This is external to my local network. This is data be pushed from roku into the TVs not getting displayed. Could be a software issue on a recent update possibly and was hoping the Oct 4th 12.50 roku software update would fix it but it did not
Having the same issue this morning with my TCL Roku TV and all 3 of my Roku streaming sticks. Restarting does not solve the problem.
Agreed. Same issue here. One of my Roku devices are connected via ethernet. Another via WIFI. Internet is strong, as I can stream on my PC/youtube. This is definitely on Roku's side.
Same, and it’s been getting worse. Every day I have to reboot my Rocky TCL tv just to get it to connect to Wi-Fi. Today, I can’t get ANY app to load - 45 minutes and no content (Wi-Fi tests fine), not even thumbnails. I wish I’d never ‘upgraded’ to a Rocky tv.
So here's the question to everyone... obviously there's a problem so is this Roku TVs in general or just TCL Roku tvs?
All this is great for us to talk about but here we are stuck in a forum and Roku and TCL are not going to do a darn thing about it because they don't know about or believe there's a problem and if you call in they're not getting enough reports of a problem to do anything. Nobody at Roku is reading this problem so you call TCL and they wash their hands of it and say it's a Roku issue. So how do you tell Roku there's a problem? Certainly not through this forum because they don't monitor it.

I am more convinced this is a GUI design problem. On the main screen when you go to "live tv" it's just blank. But the live tv data is there. If you go to "settings" then "tv input" then "live tv" the live tv guide is there so missing or non displayed data is getting to the tv, at least live tv from roku, but it no longer shows up and is a blank screen when in the main menu load page where all the app icons and live tv options should be
