Yes, it does look like there is no reply button on many threads. Some say they are solved, yet there are people asking for solutions still.
I took time to type the steps up to a problem with one clarification that made the fix work, but I cannot post it.
If we navigated to an older comment, obviously there is still a problem since we feel a need to reply. Maybe the threads are being closed prematurely.

Once a thread gets over a certain age, even with a similar problem it's best to start a fresh thread. Mostly because there's going to be updates to the Roku OS and/or the app(s) in question so the original issue is likely not the same thing any longer.
I understand what you are saying. Thanks for your response. Since this is an old problem that is still affecting people I predict being met with the old "this is asked and answered already" scolding which derails such attempts, but maybe I'll give it a try anyway. Personally, a little clarification on that two-year-old thread would have saved me about an hour wasted.
