Hi, the Roku works great except the YouTube channel's captions settings don't persist after being set and have to be set again in three circumstances:
1) Turn on captions with up arrow then click the caption icon, watch a video to verify it's working, exit the app, then come back in, watch a video and the captions are again turned off.
2) Turn on captions, watch a video to verify it's working, then watch a video with no captioning in the content, then try watching a video with captions, and the captions are again turned off.
3) Turn on captions, watch a video to verify it's working, then watch a video with captions in a differnt language than my profile preference (US English), then watch another with captions, and the captions are again turned off.
Both my Roku profile and my Youtube profiles say always close caption in US Englicsh. YoutUbe frivolously, whimsically turns it off for me.
Not the end of the world but you can see it from here.
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
A warm welcome here in the Roku Community, @erichnoll4.
We appreciate you reaching out for support. No worries, we're here to find you the best resolution possible.
In this instance, since this is happening inside the YouTube app, we highly recommend reaching out to the channel provider themselves as they are the ones who provided, maintained, and updated their app on the Roku streaming platform independently.
You might have enabled the closed captioning on your Roku streaming player but certain apps on the platform have features inside their app which doesn't follow the settings of Roku.
We hope this helps.
Best regards,
Carly
