This didn't work for me.  When I pause the video, at the bottom of the screen to the right, I do see several options including "CC".  However, I can't navigate to it.  Apparently, the right arrow, which would be the most intuitive choice, just does a fast forward.  Down arrow just brings up the related videos menu at the bottom.

I also tried doing this at the Roku settings level, but that didn't work either.

[Note, I'm trying this on YouTube, not YouTube TV, but you'd think it would be the same.]

try hitting the up button, then scroll over to CC.

I think you have to have a YT TV subscription to be able to use CC.

No. YTTV is not needed. Scatter50 was correct. He just needs to move UP and then OVER.
