I recently noticed that the max icon was on my tv. I didn't install it, so i figured it was another roku update where they put channels on my tv I'm never going to watch and have to delete it. I opened the app first to see if there was another promo (I had the app during a three month promo, but canceled the subscription and deleted the app once it was over).
When I opened the app, there were three profiles with names of people I don't know and it was registered to an email address I gave never heard. I haven't had any come over to that would have installed it either. I'm really just confused how this could happen and was wondering if this happened to anyone else. My tv has never belonged to me as far as I'm aware (bought it new).
"My tv has never belonged to me" - I'm guessing that's not what you meant.
Since an app appeared that you didn't add, it's likely that there's another device somewhere linked to the same Roku account as your TV. Check the email address that's displayed under Settings->System->About. Is it yours? If so, use that email address to log in at https://my.roku.com and check the list of devices that are linked to that account. Are there any you don't recognize? While you're there, you might want to check the subscriptions that you're paying for through Roku. You may be paying for that MAX subscription.

Im so sorry, it was late last night when I noticed the app and tried to troubleshoot it myself and I mixed my two thoughts together of "no one has ever owned this TV besides me (I don't think it was a return, but i guess i have no real way of knowing?) and "I'm the only yl owner as far as I'm aware" I'm so sorry for the confusion. I'm just really confused about this whole thing.
I did check my account like you suggested and I did see one tv we used to have that gotten broken in a move. I did remove it just to be safe and checked my subscriptions and didn't see max at all. I also reset my password.
Thank you so much for the response and the suggestions! I wonder if someone picked up the old TV and was able to refurbish it somehow, but it seemed pretty to be in pretty bad shape after the move (metal bed frame fell right on top of it). That is really the only thing that makes any sense! Anyway thank you again!
So what do I do if it isn’t my email under the about?
@Hhubatch, you need to factory reset the Roku device and link it to your own Roku account.
