Roku Stuck on Channel Tiles From Home Screen

Saw that this was solved but I'm still encountering the problem. The channel tiles all appear but I cannot select them, from the home screen, and the "highlight" box freezes. If I try to toggle over, the cursor selects the Roku Channel advert instead of the channel. I've done both the soft and the hard resets to no avail. I'm using a Roku stick rather than Roku TV. I've noticed that the Roku channel tile will not load. The preloaded channels, on the remote, will boot but this does not help as Paramount+ is not on my remote and only selectable from the home screen.

The 3500 looks to be a 2nd generation model that is nearly 11 years old now and is 3 OS versions behind the current 14.5.  It is possible that it is starting to lose its functionality due to the age of the device and the OS.  As apps are updated, they will stop working on the older operating system.  You could check to see if there are any system updates or try a system restart (or unplug for 60 seconds) and see if those things help.

Thanks for posting, and welcome to the Roku Community.

We understand your concern regarding the decline in performance of your Roku device, which has been stuck on the Channel Tiles on the Home Screen. 

Based on your post, you are using the Roku Stick 3500 model which is part of the Legacy models that are no longer supported and cannot run the latest software updates. This means that apps and channels are now incompatible since your Roku device is unable to run the latest software updates as well as the new versions of the apps on Roku.
