My problem:
atc98092, I have a USB plugged in with 12 MP4 files that I am wanting to play on a loop. Every time I try to play them I get a message saying "File Not Playable" then "The file might be damaged or corrupt". I had .jpeg files on the USB this morning and it worked fine. Anyone have experience with this?
Then please provide the information I asked you originally. MP4 is a container, nothing more. Your media won't play because there's something within that container that isn't supported by Roku. Once we know what's inside the container, we can determine what's not supported and provide a way to resolve the problem.
Just a hunch, but you could run your files through Handbrake and convert them into a playable file. Handbrake isn't particularly fast (an hour video might take up to twice that long to convert) but it will ensure you have a playable file for Roku devices. They even have a number of Roku presets that you can choose from. Handbrake is free, so all it costs is the time it takes to convert your files.
Is this what you're asking for?
Yes it is, thanks! I don't see any audio information in that file, but perhaps it's a video only file. What I do see is the H.265 video codec. Now I need to know what Roku player you have. H.265 is only supported by the 4K Roku players, so if you have an Express or perhaps an older 1080 Roku that would explain why it won't play.
