No it I know it worked because I watched it for 10 months on a Roku  3710RW with out an issue.  So don’t tell me it never worked!  I guess people who dont have HDMI connectors on their TVs aren’t worth the time

I didnt say it never worked, or that it wasnt on your 3710 - Roku, Apple (and I) said it wasnt supported.

Sometimes apps (especially for services when initially launched) appear on models that arent actually supported, seem to work ok, and then are later removed.  Its unfortunate,  misleading, frustrating, and confusing for consumers with those models, but it happens.

You said in a previous post "It says it’s compatible with Apple+ and it was for awhile but it’s not listed on the Apple+ site now." What is the "it says" you are referring to?

Roku?

Now=  https://support.roku.com/article/360036652634

Then = https://community.roku.com/t5/Channel-Issues-Questions/Apple-TV-Not-Available-on-All-Roku-Device-Mod...

Roku doesnt now and has never stated the 3710 was compatible with the ATV app, though they have revised their list to add newer models (you can even check copies/quotes from their support page back in 2019, as linked above).

Apple?

Now = https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-app/devices/

Then = http://web.archive.org/web/20191101183103/https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-app/devices/

News articles from 2019?  Every news article that lists specific Roku model support doesnt list the 3710.

And as far as composite support goes, the 3910 (the successor to the 3710) is supported, though the ATV app currently only launches/loads in HDMI mode (OS10 bug crashes it back to home in composite mode).

**This bug (Apple TV app crashes to home upon loading with composite output) is fixed as of 6/4/21**

I want to thank you for your help. I had tried everything and nothing worked . I couldn’t understand why I was able to watch it for month and then it wouldn’t load anything. I figured something had to have changed . Then I see your response . I said this is it my husband changed the picture settings. He wasn’t here so I changed my tv settings back to the original picture settings the tv came with . I can’t believe it Apple started working . I have been searching for answer to this problem for 2 months. Thank you so much for taking the time to give someone you don’t even know the answer. Michelle

I am able to watch Ted Laso, but not the Morning Show.  A few days ago we watched episode 1 of the Morning Show, but now can’t any episode (getting the dreaded unavailable message).  I removed channel, restarted Ruko and still am unable to watch any episode of the Morning Show.  Yes Ted Laso still plays. Was able to start a movie with Tom Hanks, but dead in the water on the Morning Show. Any more ideas for me?

P.S. I’m able to watch the Morning Show on my WiFi only iPad, so it is not an internet issue.

What Roku do you have. Apple +TV is problematic on all but a few versions. I’d check

We have the ‘Roku - Streaming Stick+ 4K Headphone Edition’. What I don’t understand is that it worked for several weeks and then it didn’t.  The message on the tv says to check my internet connection, which I did through the settings option through Roku and it knows it’s there and says the strength is excellent.

Apple TV worked wonderfully for me for 6 months then stopped working because Apple decided to drop support.  Check here:    https://support.roku.com/article/360036652634

and be sure to check numbers not just the name

Apple didnt drop support for the 3710 - it was never officially supported in the first place (see the previous post I made in response to your false claim that they "dropped support for the 3710").

You can peruse any of the support articles/user posts/etc back when the Apple TV app was released for the Roku platform back in late 2019, and you'll notice the 3710 was never supported.

It may have installed on your 3710, and may even have worked - sometimes new apps/major versions get installed on models/devices they arent officially supported on (happened with the Disney+ app too, which was released around the same time).  Its unfortunate, frustrating, confusing and misleading for consumers of those devices/models, but it happens.

In fact, Roku model support for the Apple TV app has increased since late 2019, due to the fact that new models have been released in 2020/2021.

Regardless, your suggestion that users verify their model is supported is good advice, if a bit misleading due to your claim of previous "dropped support".

I’ve told Apple and I will post it here as well,  the 3710 is one of the few Devices that works with older TVs.  Not everyone can afford to or wants to buy a new TV.  It worries me that Roku has discontinued products that work with older TVs.  I wonder how long they will support them.  How long will my  Roku work in the future?.  It bothers me that instead of trying to get Apple  to support the 3710. Roku just waves it off after all Roku hasn’t  a replacement for the 3710 that works with old TVs
