The Playlet channel is not working. Nothing will load up. I just get a full screen error message. I use Playlet to watch YouTube videos without the commercials. Is there a fix? Or is the channel forever broken? Thanks for any help.
Looks like Playlet is having some issues. It was down last week as well (failing to launch/crash), but then started working again.
Currently, mine is opening but am met with errors like the 503 error already brought to the developer's attention on the Github Issues page for Playlet. (https://github.com/iBicha/playlet/issues/501).
Also unable to use the web app via browser as suggested by developer so something is a bit buggered at the moment.
I'm sure it will be functioning soon. (just something going on with the backend which was the workaround to the invidious instances). The Invidious guys are also still dealing with some issues as well.
Thanks for the reply. Perhaps there is some hanky panky created by Google/YouTube??🤔. I hope it comes back soon. I can't stand all the commercials on Youtube.
Looks like Playlet is back up and running.
If you haven't already, go into the Playlet settings and select the "Playlet(local)" for the Backend, as many of the available Invidious instances still have issues. (have to keep changing instances if you are using them).
Playlet not loading for me either StatusCode 503
Yes Playlet worked this past weekend. However as of today it is not working for me. I keep getting error messages. The channel is great if it works. Right now Playlet is NOT WORKING....So I deleted the channel.
Thanks for informing us about the issue you've encountered with the Playlet app.
This issue is mainly related to a bug with the app. With this matter, we would recommend reaching out to Playlet's developer and letting them know about the issue you've experienced with their app.
Once acknowledged by the developer, a workaround may be provided, or they may create an update with their app to resolve the issue.
We appreciate you for your understanding, and feel free to reach out to us if you have further concerns or inquries.
Thanks,
Kash
Playlet was developed/using invidious backends. (if invidious is having issues, so will Playlet).
The developer is currently attempting to make Playlet a little less dependent on invidious currently.
The best place to look at issues/workarounds for this channel/app is at the project's Github 'Issues' page.

I was actually able to get mine working again this morning by changing from the Playlet backend to the 'inv.nadeko.net' instance. (It may be a coincidence or maybe the developer pushed another fix, but I can now change between this instance and the Playlet backend and both methods work).
So...if you are still having issues, change the invidious instance. (check his github page to see working ones, as the one mentioned below may change in the future.)
1. Launch Playlet. (if you get error message box, just arrow over left to get into the Settings/gear icon).
2. Highlight the Invidious Box on left. Then press right arrow to highlight the "instance" box. Press OK.
3. Press the Up arrow to highlight the Edit icon in the "invidious custom instance" field. Press OK to bring up the on-screen keyboard. In this field you need to enter https://inv.nadeko.net and then select Ok in the keyboard.
4. Perform a Test Instance to see what is working, (more green checks the better, but as long as the valid url and instance in reachable, those are really all you need to play the video.)
5. Scroll up to the "Playback" Box in the Settings As mentioned above, in the Settings, sometimes just toggling between using the Invidious instance and the Playlet (local) under the Backend will be enough to address issue. (this will depend on where developer is pointing the local to/server).
(The above info/workaround can be found by reading https://github.com/iBicha/playlet/issues/506)
i went in playlet then search cam live around the world it came up with alot of live videos when i click on on it shows name at top but get black screen on videos
Hi, @THOMAS10
Welcome to the Roku Community.
We appreciate you for informing us about the issue you've encountered with the Playlet channel on your Roku device.
As advised in this thread, we would recommend reaching out to the channel developer as they can provide a workaround or develop an update to fix issues with their app. It is important to note that a channel/app is directly managed by the channel developer.
We hope this will be sorted out soon.
