This weekend, a noticeable difference in Philo format. It was glitching, it was annoying. It kept playing a show while I wanted to view the guide, etc. I contacted Philo and this is the reply:
"We were able to determine that you are part of an experiment that Philo is trying out for Roku users so we appreciate you reaching out and letting us know how you feel about this.
At the moment we do not have an option to remove users from this experiment but we are gathering information on what the users don't like about it so again, thank you for letting us know how you feel about the saved section and we are going to pass this along to our product team.
Should you have any other further questions or concerns, please reach back out to us via chat, email or phone support"
Thought I would mention it in the community in case you also are part of the *experiment*, thinking this is just an update to the app. It isn't ... feel free to voice your opinions to Philo.
Not sure what you meant by playing a show while viewing the guide. I can be watching a recording or similar, but still use the guide and other menus while the video plays in the background. It has always been this way for the past few months I have had it. I like it as it's one of the rare apps that allows multitasking.
That hasn't been part of mine till this experiment started. So maybe they were experimenting before this experiment. Lol. But I hate it. I find it extremely annoying. Trying to read the guide while a movie continues with movement in the background, very annoying. I'm glad it is working for you. They should give us options. I can see where my very elderly parents wouldn't be able to handle something like this. So they need to have something that's going to go across the generations... Multi-generation friendly. 🙂
Anyway, just wanted everyone to be aware you could be part of the experiment, If all of a sudden everything changed. A bunch of things changed. The saved section, put into different categories, and to see your complete list you got to keep scrolling to the right. Etc.
Again, glad it is working for you! Hopefully they consider the multi-generations when they conclude this experiment.
Over the weekend, the top of the home screen was a bit different. It was full width and didn't have the normal Keep Watching window. Today, it is back to normal.
