I'm tired of seeing horror movie ads and others that you could not show on broadcast TV.
You can be watching "gentle" and "family friendly" then see a "slasher" movie ad.
Can Roku gets ads that are fit to show to everybody?
I'm looking into IP address filtering for my router.

Hello! @Bill312,
Thank you for your post in the Roku Community!
We appreciate you contacting us about limiting and managing the ad preferences on your Roku streaming device's Home Screen. We're pleased to assist.
How to change ad preferences
Roku allows you to limit the ads shown on your device by hiding individual ads or limiting specific ad categories.
Use the following instructions to opt out of ads that may contain sensitive content:
- Press the Home button on your Roku remote
- Scroll and select Settings.
- Select Privacy
- Select Advertising
- Select Sensitive ad content
- Select one or more sensitive ad categories
- Press OK
Checking a sensitive ad category means you are restricting the types of ads Roku will be able to show on your Home Screen and screensaver. Your ad preferences are immediately saved and will be applied to all streaming devices connected to your Roku account.
For additional information on managing your ad preferences, please check it here: How to manage them.
Thanks,

How to Manage ads on Roku device
THANK YOU. I didn't know that that setting was there. Great. Maybe no more "shocking" ads.

Yeah, maybe. Depends on who is classifying the ads, how good a job they do, and the available classification categories.
