Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

For the "easy add" feature, open the "easy add" in the roku application, and while on that view, on your computer browser, open the address shown (just type it in the address bar in your browser). This will open a page with a form for camera information.

The screenshot in your example of the "easy add" feature shows an IP address in yellow text "http://192.168.1.243:12345". However, when I go into the "easy add" application in the ROKU app, in that spot the following yellow text displays, "Add cameras using your Web Browser". There is no IP address shown for me to type into my web browser.

Regarding the screen saver, I have selected a camera and pressed the "Save Screensaver" button. The screensaver saved, press exit to go back message is displayed. The screen saver does not display my selected camera but displays just a black screen.

First of all, thank you for reporting the problems you found. It is really helpful to have feedback and know what needs to be fixed.
For the IP, I know what the problem is, my test/development Roku devices are all connected with Ethernet cable and probably I get the IP and show it just for the Ethernet and not for Wifi. I will test, fix it and push an update. While waiting for the bugfix, you still can use the "easy add",  just get your roku IP from the network settings and use that IP, http://ip_from_roku:12345/
For the screensaver I have a couple of questions:

  • What camera brand are you using?

  • Does the video works while you are in the application and not the screensaver?

  • When you added the camera, what did you put in the MJPEG Link field?

I know the IP address of my Roku but am unsure about the port as it does not show in the Roku network settings. Are you saying to literally use port number 12345 to access the "easy add" form? If so, that does not work. Anyway, I have manually set up my cameras so this is a moot point for now.

For the screensaver I have a couple of questions:

  • What camera brand are you using?

  • Does the video works while you are in the application and not the screensaver?

  • When you added the camera, what did you put in the MJPEG Link field?

Camera Brand is Foscam, model FI8906W
Yes, the video works while in the application, just not the screensaver
The MJPEG Link field contains "/videostream.cgi?user={0}&pwd={1}&reolution=32&rate=0"

Both problems, "easy add" not showing the IP/port and the screensaver not showing the video are fixed now in my code. I will push later today an update. Probably by next week Roku will clear the update for the channel store.
Thank you for reporting those bugs. Let me know if you find any other problems.

Got the update pushed to my Roku today and all issues are resolved... Thanks.

Thank you for making this channel. I really like the screen saver, we keep the tv almost always on and I love that now I can see who's at the front door.
Are you going to support sound from the camera?

Maybe in a future version. Right now I'm working on ONVIF implementation.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

I just got my first Roku Ultra and purchased your Pro version. (I thought it was the same program that I use on my FireTv.  It's not) I  guess I should have tried the free version first as I can't get my Amcrest IP3M-956E cameras to work. I have tried your suggestion of going to the URL of "http://192.168.1.146:37777/videostream.cgi?user=******&pwd=******&resolution=32&rate=0"  (where * is my user name and password) and still no dice.  Is there a way to get my cameras working?

When you Edit/Add a camera, in the "Example Cameras" select Axis and try see if that works. On this page, I see that the Amcrest IP3M-956E use Axis type links:
https://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=Amcrest
If that doesn't work, you should try to find the link for motion jpeg that works using your browser on your computer and then it would be easy to use it with IP Camera Viewer Pro: just copy everything that's after the port in MJPEG field.
If you can't get it working, you can set a temporary login and password on the camera and send me a private message here on the forum, and I could try to figure out the configuration you need.

Re: IP Camera Viewer Basic and Pro, fresh out of the oven (ONVIF, RTSP coming soon)

Before buying the Pro version, I've tried to get the Basic version to work with one of my cameras. Like the previous poster, I have Amcrest cameras. The url to see the Mjpg stream in a browser is: http://user:password@IP:port/cgi-bin/mjpg/video.cgi ?[channel=<1>]&subtype=1  This doesn't appear to be compatible with the program. I can't find a way to get it to work. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
