@sschild84 Unless you have an antenna there are no free options to watch NFL football. Your Roku is just a device to access a variety of subscriptions services that offer NFL football. There is no streaming device such as fire TV, Apple TV, etc. that provides access to NFL football without a provider.
We had the same issue. Is it not possible to stream an NFL game on a Sunday without some kind of cable TV service? We have been using streaming only for over 15 years. It seems like the NFL is way out of date on this. We would like to able to buy 1 football game, like ordering a movie on Amazon. We obviously don't want to pay over $500 for a few football games.
@KColorado The closest that you can get to purchasing a single game would probably be a one month subscription to Peacock for Sunday night football. With a one month Peacock subscription you would have four games for $7.99 or about two dollars a game.
Thanks - that is helpful.
So you’re saying that even though Roku says I can get Fox Sports through them I cannot? I have to have another paid provider?
Having same problems. So so frustrating.
So let me clarify this. NFL+ is essentially a useless subscription for Roku. Last year it allowed streaming of games to a Roku device, but this year it does no such thing and only streams to a phone or tablet. You need a separate provider to watch the games for some reason (not at all clear why it worked for the 2023-2024 season and not the 2024-2025 season). It would be great to pay the simple NFL+ fee and maybe select a single team and get to watch all of THEIR games, but the NFL makes no such simplicity. Cancelling their subscription now and not sure we'll be watching any more at this point. I'm very disappointed as my wife and I were hoping to have a new hobby to share.
Thank you! But what about Fox Sports channel?
@Erikaps The FOX Sports app is available at no cost. Though free to download, the app requires a subscription with a TV provider to stream live games, shows, and other sports content. Roku is not a TV provider.
Thank you! I get so confused.
