That's a workaround that shouldn't be necessary. Yes, you can get the captions to work with Peacock if you fiddle with the setting and restart the app every time, but it's annoying and a waste of time. This is an issue with the Peacock app that runs on Roku. Roku needs to address the issue with the app developer, not provide workarounds or point users to Peacock support.
Hi, Mary! Sorry, but that doesn't work on Peacock. However, there IS a solution.
When you click the captions button on , immediately hit the Home button on your Roku remote, and then go back to the show you want to watch on Peacock. VOILA!!! Captions work!
That is another workaround, not a solution. A solution means fixing the app so that when you turn on subtitles, they work.
Roku does not develop the Peacock channel. Peacock is the developer which is part of NBC.
That's true. Guess I'm just terminology-challenged. Thanks for the correction. On the other hand, it may not be the solution we desire, but if it gets the captions on, I'm happy.
Your instructions do not work for Peacock. We have captions set to “Always on” and get none. Infuriating.
Hello @Lmmontell
Thanks for posting here in the Community!
Please be advised that channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel developer themselves. We suggest reaching out to Peacock's customer support team to see if they have any additional settings or options within their app that may allow the functionality you are looking for.
You can contact them here: Peacock Help Center
All the best,
Kariza
The issue is with the version of the app that is running on Roku. Roku should be reaching out to Peacock to get the issue resolved, not telling users to contact Peacock themselves. This is nothing but shoddy support and lack of ownership by Roku.
Regarding the link provided by forum moderator Kariza to "contact Peacock", that page is nothing but links to various Peacock help topics and issues. There is nothing that would allow anyone to contact Peacock.
Reboot Roku and in Peacock press *. I have to do it every day I want to watch Peacock. PITA
