Someone please help!!!! This Spanish channel app Canela keeps randomly downloading onto my Roku premiere + and then randomly opens it and starts playing Spanish soap operas! If I spoke out understood Spanish, it’s possible I would enjoy this, however, I do not and it has become almost unbearable to have to continue to deal with…I’ve removed it, have it so a pin has to be entered…nothing seems to work…there has to be a solution….right???!!?
It's possible another Roku is linked to your account. Anything added to one will be added to all. Go to your Roku account online and check the list of linked devices. Remove any you don't recognize or no longer use.
You may also want to verify nobody is stealing your Internet and using the Roku app to add stuff. Maybe even change your Roku password.
I've been having this issue, too. With the same app. I literally just turned my Roku off... and it immediately turned back on and downloaded this app. Which it has been doing for a week or two now. If there are any answers to why this app is ending up on our devices over and over would be much appreciated.
Hi, @Jus_Joshin @skotjay.
Welcome to the Roku Community Support platform!
We appreciate you informing us about this. Rest assured that we'll help you find the best resolution so you can get back on streaming at your convenience.
To prevent this from happening again, we highly recommend adding a 4-digit PIN code to help you control what can be purchased or what apps can be added to your channel lineup.
Use the following instructions to create or change your Roku PIN:
Here's our support article for reference: How to create, change, or remove your Roku PIN
We hope this helps!
Best regards,
Carly
I found a better solution. This app keeps installing because if you hit the play button while your screensaver is going, it will install.
Just make sure you aren't using any Roku screensavers or wallpaper, and you'll be good.
You should be able to clear a screensaver by using any key, such as an arrow key.
This problem should hopefully be fixed soon if it is a Roku screensaver. They admitted it was causing problems like yours, and we're going to make changes so that you have to verify to open an app first.
