I have the Streaming Stick 4k and Dolby Atmos suddenly stops working. I'll notice on movies and shows that are usually Atmos now will just show as "Spatial Audio". In that time I haven't changed any settings so it doesn't make any sense. I don't know why it does it and apparently neither does Roku support. I'm wondering if I just have a defective stick??
I just spent 1 hour texting back and forth with support and they are trying to pawn it off on the different apps netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV.... I can go my Samsung TV apps as well as my PS5 apps and they still work fine. But after doing a factory reset and resign into all my accounts they'll work fine for a week or so. It's total BS! Their customer service is horse dung!! Their customer service agent Emmanuel disconnected our chat when I Schooled her with my logic because she had me uninstall Netflix and reinstall it and Dolby Atmos still didn't work. But for some reason it works after the factory reset. She couldn't answer it and all of a sudden the chat was disconnected(I was not rude or disrespectful during our conversation either). I purchased 3 different Roku devices but this is the only one connected to Dolby Atmos system. Unfortunately none of the other sticks are at this house or I'd try one of them. This is still under warranty and I guess I was hoping they'd offer me a replacement to see if that rectifies the issue but I was wrong. And it's just too old to return to Amazon for a replacement. I switched an Amazon fire stick to this TV and have been using it for the past month with no issues with Dolby Atmos. It's been great but I noticed the difference in speed compared to the Roku stick. It's going good especially since Amazon music offers Dolby Atmos music now!
I still would rather use the Roku if anyone has any suggestions!
After hours of research I finally found the answer. I have no idea how this setting changed on its own?!?! But once you change this setting I had to restart the Roku and Dolby Atmos reappeared! Thank you @Bernie1344 !!! It's a shame Roku support sucks so much!!
When playing content, try pressing the * button on the remote, turn off volume mode, press home button, go back to the channel and try playing the content again. Worked for me.
