I am watching Starz on the roku channel. After an episode ends it automatically plays the next episode. How do I turn that off? Settings > Accessibility > Auto-play video to "Off" does not work.
That setting has nothing to do with it even if some people here seem to think it does.
I don't believe there's any way to disable it within "The Roku Channel" unless someone has an idea other than the aforementioned Accessibility setting (that only stops autoplaying while browsing or upon app launch).

I truly hate this auto-next-episode feature in the ROKU Channel. I have been able to turn this "binging" feature off in Netflix and Amazon Prime -- why can't Roku allow me to do the same thing! The answer given above (and in other places) regarding turning off AutoPlay applies has NOTHING TO DO with not automatically jumping to the next episode in a series -- it applies to starting to play a program while just resting on it..
I have seen complaints about this going back over a year -- is Roku listening? I hate this feature so much that for this reason alone, I will not watch the Roku Channel.
I have the exact same problem, and you have described the situation perfectly. I do not want next episodes to play automatically, but I cannot find anyway to turn this "binging" feature off in the ROKU Channel.
Netflix distinguish between "AutoPlay Preview" and "AutoPlay Next Episode", and Amazon Prime has "AutoPlay Off" and it stops auto playing the next episode. However, the Roku Channel's "AutoPlay" only applies to previews and there is no other option to not jump to the next episode.
Since Amazon Prime added advertisements (unless you pay an extra fee) I'm abandoning them and looking for an alternative streaming service. I was starting to enjoy the Roku Channel (the adds are less intrusive), but I hate this feature so much that for this reason alone, I will not continue my search for an alternative. Roku management -- are you listening?
