Welcome and thank you for posting in the Roku Community, @OldMan1943!

We understand that you are unable to remove the app even though the subscription has been canceled. We're here for assistance.

In this matter, we recommend speaking with our Account-Billing team as they are best equipped to assist with your concerns. You can contact us at Roku Support. Go to "Account, payment, & subscription" and choose to speak with a live representative.

You can check the charges on your account by clicking this link.: How to review your purchase history and charges to your Roku account.

If the subscription is billed through Roku, you can cancel it either via the website or directly on your device. Here are the instructions on how to cancel the membership via the website:

  1. Sign in to your Roku account.
  2. Select Manage your subscriptions.
  3. Select the channel or subscription under Active Subscriptions.
  4. Select Turn off auto-renew.
  5. Choose a cancellation reason to complete the process and select Continue to cancel.

If you need the steps on how to cancel from your device, visit this link: How to unsubscribe, cancel, or turn off auto-renew for a subscription.

Note: If you are subscribed directly through a provider such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Hulu, you will need to contact them directly to cancel your subscription.

Thanks for getting in contact, @OldMan1943!

Yes, we agree with what you mentioned above, and we understand you may be trying to remove a channel from your Roku device after canceling the subscription.

The option to "remove" the channel will only become available after the billing cycle ends, even if you have turned off auto-renewal. Therefore, we recommend waiting until the end of the subscription cycle to see the option to remove the channel.

If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to ask us. We are always here to assist!

Thanks,
Jharra

This method worked for me:

using the Roku app on your phone.  Hold your finger on the app to be removed for a few seconds and it should pop up options to Launch or Remove.”

It is resolved.   Even though I canceled the renewal, the subscription is active until the termination date.  Once the subscription termination date is met, I was able to remove the APP

Can't uninstall Apps after cancelling subscriptions

Jump to solution

I understand the flaw that will not allow me to remove an app even though the billing cycle is not to the end. However, I insist that Roku remove these apps immediately that my son added without permission. These apps have unacceptable content for young children and there should be a way for parents to permanently remove them ANYTIME. I have now added a pin so he can't add channels any more, but I need these removed immediately.
